The solar panel converts sunlight into electricity, which is then stored in the re-chargeable battery and this electricity we can use for lighting, mobile phone recharging ,,etc.
Here Show you a small Solar Setup for general propose like lighting , Mobile phone recharging.
Material Required :
1. Solar panel ( 10W or 20W max )
2. Rechargeable Battery ( 4Ah / 7Ah )
3. Voltage Regulator For Battery Charging
1. Solar panel :
If You are looking for a portable solar panel use 10w 12 volt solar
This is small in size and easily to carry ( for out door camping)
2. Rechargeable Battery :
Use Lead acid battery 4Ah 12 Volt For 10w solar panel
and 20w solar panel for recharging 7Ah battery
3. Voltage Regulator :
12 Volt solar panel will produce max 24 volt out put , for the battery recharging this voltage regulate to 13.4 volt. For that i am using 7812 regulator IC , its pinout shown below

You Can Use Transformer 230/18 Volt , Instead Of Solar Panel
Buy 230/9-0-9 Transformer
Avoid center tap wire and will get 18 Volt total voltage , rectify the AC in to DC and connect to Regulator input.
Lead Acid Battery Charging Procedure
1. Recharging Voltage 13.3 to 14 volt
2. Current Rating 10 to 15% of the battery Ah Capacity
Example for 10Ah battery , Max Current 1.5 Amps
